Carapax is a unique center in Europe where thousands
of tortoises and turtles are rescued, studied, breeded
and reintroduced in Nature. The Center is open for
the public.You can come to enjoy a walk in a beautifull
Mediterranean landscape with forest and marches.
There's a playground for children and a pick nick
place. You will see from close the TORTOISE CLINIC,
the incubation of eggs and birth of baby tortoises,
the tortoise nursery. Students and volunteers will
give you all necessary explanations and there is
also a turtle cinema. In the "exotic"
area of Carapax you will see giant Sahel Tortoises,
snapping turtles, alligator snapping turtles and
red footed Amazone tortoises. |
